Week 3 has just been completed and we’ve been having a great time. In math Kindergarten has been learning to model quantities of 5 and have continued learning about Tt and Cc. We’ve Colored, Counted, and Crossed out all kinds of things. The 1st Grade has learned about Cesar Chavez, George Washington Carver, and Ruby Bridges. For science we did several experiments with eggs, raw and cooked. Do you know which kind of egg spins the best, and why? Check with one of Mrs. Grow’s students and they should be able to tell you.

Whew! It hardly seems possible that we have just completed 2 weeks of school already. In Mrs. Grow’s classroom, Kindergarten and 1st Grade, we have begun studying about heroes. Already, 1st Grade has learned about many Bible heroes like Adam, “Little Lad”, and Moses. Some of our historical heroes we’ve studied are Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin, Jr., and Rachel Carson. If you don’t know who these heroes are, ask a 1st Grader.
Kindergarten has learned the letters Mm, Ss, Tt, and Cc. We’ve learned how to model, or show, quantities of 1, 2, 3, and 4. In science we looked at a leaf under the microscope, too. This was a very special leaf, too. Talk to one of the students in our class to find out why this leaf was so different.
